Comic Con 2013 Photos

CCI pn

Comic Con 2013 was held in San Diego 7/17/13 – 7/21/13. The four days were jam packed with walking around the exhibit halls, panels, enjoying fans and taking lots of photos.

Day one images are on this gallery at the bottom of page. The Walking Dead booth featured “zombies” at the prison. It also would not be Comic Con without the protestors outside in the gaslamp area

CCI ProtestorsFor some reason they feel the need to stand there and yell out their feelings and views on religion.

DSC_6718Day 2 highlights included meeting Kara Eberle and Kathleen Zuelch from “Rooster Teeth”. Rooster Teeth has the longest running web series titled “Red vs. Blue”.

It was great to see the cosplayers dressed up as RWBY- Red, White, Blue , Yellow. I was able to interview Kara and Kathleen (still working on editing the video for that) and it was great to hear that they have strong female characters that are not just based on physical looks -Brains and strength instead of just looking hot. Kara is the voice of the character “Weiss” and Kathleen is the voice of “Tex” and “Glinda Goodwich”.

The Profiles in History booth had many of the items that will be auctioned off during their upcoming auction. It was a lot of fun to chat with Brian Chanes and Joe Maddalena.

DSC_0014DSC_0015 Fans from all around the world stopped by their booth. I saw a fan from Brazil who was so excited to get his photo taken with them.  DSC_6747

Friday night Day 2 was just amazing since I was able to do the photographs for the “Vikings’ press room. Travis Fimmel, Clive Standen, George Blagen, Gustaf Skarsgard (yes Alex’s brother!), Jessalyn Gilsig, Katheryn Winnick were there representing the cast of the popular History channel. They cast was excited about the upcoming season 2.

My night was just perfect when Gustaf noticed that I was wearing a green Hammarby soccer shirt! He gave me a thumbs up and wanted me to join him on the red carpet.

DSC_0058 He gave some super cool smiles and appreciated having a fan there to take photos. He also was grateful for the support from fans.

I will write a separate post for the Day 3 panels since there were quite a few tv shows being featured. Day 4 was also a blast since I got to meet some more of the Rooster Teeth crew! It was impossible to do all the things I wanted do during this year’s Comic Con but I’m happy I did manage to do all the fun things I did get to do!! Can’t wait for next year.

Comic Con 2013 True Blood Panel Highlights and Photos

Comic Con 2013 once again featured a True Blood panel in Ballroom 20. The room was filled to capacity with fans who waited many many hours for the chance to see the cast and hear about the rest of season 6.

Here are some highlights of the panel: (from I was at the panel and the images on this post were ones I took.

The panel: Actors Anna Paquin, Deborah Ann Woll, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Ryan Kwanten, Nelsan Ellis and Rutina Wesley (pictured), Sam Trammell, Michael McMillian, Anna Camp, Joe Manganiello, newcomer Rob Kazinsky (Warlow), and showrunner Brian “Bucky” Buckner

Footage screened: Just a preview of the second half of season 6. Jessica and company enduring more torture at vamp camp, vampires being tormented, Bill acting all crazy and destructive, lots of Sarah, and Sookie entangled with Warlow in a blood-drenched haze. The final shot was Bill lying face-down on the ground…Screencaps for this trailer are on this post:

Snap judgment: Comic-Con loooooooves True Blood, and the thirsty crowd erupted into raucous cheers for each panelist. When Joe Manganiello said … well, anything, really, but in particular, the simple remark that “Alcide’s not a small guy” — high-pitched screams filled the giant ballroom. New cast member Kazinsky was adorably overwhelmed. “How trippy is this Comic-Con?” he had to point out. “Forty-five-hundred of you right now! Plus, Joe’s really close — and he’s way bigger.”

Comic Con 2013 Michael McMillian Signing True Blood Comics for IDW

Comic Con 2013 is in full swing! I am here covering the event and was able to chat and grab some photos with True Blood’s very own Vampire Steve Newlin- MIchael McMillian. He was at the IDW booth signing True Blood comic for fans. Michael took a photo of fans where were on line and tweeted them.

Michael was awesome! I asked him why did he snitch on Eric Northman at Vamp Camp Truman. Well he replied Eric did kill his boyfriend Russell Edginton. As much as I don’t like anyone snitching on Eric he did have a good point. Steve Newlin is still reeling from the loss of his love Russell. The new season has been great so far. Can’t wait to see Michael and the rest of the True Blood cast at the panel being held at Comic Con on Saturday. Here are some photos from the signing. (the comics he signed will be auctioned for charity later this season). A huge thank you to my friends who bought comics and had them signed by MIchael they turned right around and gave them to me for the auction!

True Blood’s Janina Gavankar To Moderate Behind The Music Comic Con Panel

The press releases keep coming in for Comic Con 2013! This one caught my eye since it will have True Blood’s “Luna” Janina Gavankar moderating the “Behind the Music” panel
WHAT: “Behind the Music with CW3PR: Scoring for Comic-Con’s Favorite Projects” – Consistently named one of the weekend’s “must see” events, Comic-Con’s original music panel is returning to San Diego for the fifth year in a row, bigger and better than ever!“Behind the Music” brings fans closer than ever before to the musicians behind their favorite films, TV shows, and video games. This year, two of television’s hottest stars, and big fans of musical score, Matt Lanter (“90210” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars”) and Janina Gavankar (“True Blood” and “Arrow”) will join top composers from TV and film’s hottest projects – including their own – and provide a unique perspective on how music plays a big part for their characters. The fifth annual popular panel is also placing a special emphasis on how aspiring musicians can find themselves writing songs, lyrics, and score for some of the most exciting projects around.

Attendees will receive exclusive giveaways and be the first to view (and hear) some surprise sneak peeks from upcoming projects. A fan-led Q&A will follow.

Austin, TX— Tuesday, July 9, 2013 — Rooster Teeth Productions is thrilled to announce the online premiere of their highly anticipated new anime series, RWBY.  The first season will premiere exclusively on the Rooster Teeth website on Thursday, July 18th.

“We’re just ridiculously excited about how awesome this show is. The fan reaction at RTX was off the charts, and we can’t wait to reveal episode one to our fans online, and new audiences around the world,” says Rooster Teeth CEO and Co-Founder Matt Hullum.

Created and directed by Monty Oum, RWBY is the story of four very different girls brought together for one legendary purpose.  Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang are new students at Beacon Academy, a school designed to train warriors and monster-hunters.  Unfortunately, monsters aren’t the only threat to the citizens of Vale and before the year is over, the students of Beacon may find that homework is the least of their problems.

Rooster Teeth premiered the first episode of RWBY at RTX 2013 to a packed room of 2,400 excited fans.  Following the premiere, cast and crew received a standing ovation.

“RWBY‘s episode one premiere at RTX was met with a standing ovation. The acceptance of this new project by our fans was overwhelming to the dedicated team members who all put their hearts into it,” says series creator and Rooster Teeth Director of Animation Monty Oum.
