True Blood Episode 5×09 “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” Title Song Speculation

True Blood episode 5.09 is titled “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”.  The song for this episode might be the version by “Tears for Fears” from 1985:

The lyrics for this song are:

Welcome to your life
There’s no turning back
Even while we sleep
We will find you acting on your best behavior
Turn your back on Mother Nature
Everybody wants to rule the world

It’s my own design
It’s my own remorse
Help me to decide
Help me make the most
Of freedom and of pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world

There’s a room where the light won’t find you
Holding hands while the walls come tumbling down
When they do I’ll be right behind you
So glad we’ve almost made it
So sad they had to fade it
Everybody wants to rule the world

I can’t stand this indecision
Married with a lack of vision
Everybody wants to rule the world
Say that you’ll never never never never need it
One headline why believe it?
Everybody wants to rule the world

All for freedom and for pleasure
Nothing ever lasts forever
Everybody wants to rule the world

So is the reference in the song to “Everybody” speaking of the vampires or perhaps the fairies? Yes the humans of course will also want to have a say in their world especially if the vampires are on a killing spree. Whatever version of the song that is used it will be fun to hear it on the show.

True Blood Episode 47 Soul of Fire Song

True Blood episode 4.11 is titled “Soul of Fire”. There is a song with this title by the group Witch. Knowing Alan Ball he might use this one alone just for the group’s name since the witches have wreaked a lot of havoc this season. Not sure if this will be the version we hear at the end of the episode. It is one of the only versions out there with that title (there are mnay songs with Soul on fire) Here are the lyrics:

Hold on t-t-together baby
gotta get out of here
hollow moon is rising
and the sky is clear
so I got a feeling
I got a frenzy
of burning fires
till the darkness ends

Oh see the witch you can see now
gotta let your mind go
gotta free your body
gotta have a drink now
I’ve seen the serpent
I’ve seen the spirit
oh the smoke has told me
that I cannot hold it
Look out!

here’s the video- the music reminds me of the pyschedelic rock of the 70’s.

True Blood Composer Nathan Barr Video Interview

Buzzfocus.com met up with Nathan Barr at the recent WondercCon in San Francisco and chatted about the music of True Blood and a bit about Season 4. He talks about which supernatural character was his favorite to create a sound for (surprised me to hear his reply). He also talks about his working with Hans Zimmer. He mentions season 4 how it will be “exciting for fans . It starts off in an exciting new place. Musically it was exciting to start off the season with a bang by hiring and orchestra.”  The fairies get their own “sound”.

From buzzfocus: Barr has created a style of his own, coming a long way since working as an assistant to living legend Hans Zimmer. He remarks on creating a real-world atmosphere for True Blood, as well as what will be different about the Fairies in Season 4 from fairies you’ve seen in other genres. Barr also discusses changes in Tara’s character that began in Season 3 as well as his favorite supernatural character to compose music for. In regards to Season 4, Barr lets us know that we’ll be in for something very different in the first 10 minutes of theTrue Blood premiere as well as new characters in the works

Countdown to New Blood

AUTHOR: beadrbop
TITLE: Countdown to new “Blood”
STATUS: publish

DATE: 8/6/2009 5:37:00 PM

Is is Sunday yet? This Sunday HBO’s True Blood will pick up where episode 2.07 “Release Me” left off. Below is a sneed preview for episode 2.08 “Timebomb”. Just hearing Godric say “I’m here my child” and seeing Eric Northman kneeling before him gives me chills. I can not wait to see the whole episode. Of course seeing Eric tied down to an altar with silver restraints does cause some worry.

e for the episode does make me wonder what song choice does Alan Ball have in store for us? One good choice could be Beck’s song “Timebomb”. There are several songs with this title. Here is the version by Beck. The music video for the song is at the end of the page. Enjoy!
