The best actress award at Cannes 2011 was awarded to Kirsten Dunst for her role in Melancholia. Kirsten’s character in the film is shown on her wedding day with Alexander Skarsgard. The film was directed by Lars von Trier who has been banned from the film festival due to his remarks during a press conference at Cannes.
The film is due to have a US release date of 11/3/11.

True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgard is featured in Lars von Trier’s film “Melancholia”. Due to filming schedule of True Blood Alexander was unable to attend the Cannes Film Festival where the film made it’s debut. Digital Spy’s movie editor, Simon Reynolds gave movie fans a snapshot of what the Cannes critics had to say about Melancholia.
