Alexander Skarsgard Interview Blackbook Magazine

Blackbook Magazine featured Alexander Skarsgard on their cover. Here is an excerpt from the interview with True Blood’s very own Eric Northman. The interviewer, Nick Haramis  had the great chance of visiting with Alex during a reshoot of a scene for the fourth season (sounds like one of the ones in the finale perhaps)

“Use your phone and shine a light over here,” says Alexander Skarsgård, whose indefinitely appropriated Southern twang echoes off the walls inside one of the many vast stages at Hollywood Center Studios in Los Angeles. It’s True Blood’s final day of production before the show’s annual hiatus (they’ll reconvene in November for season five), and the near-empty lot we’ve been wandering feels like a schoolhouse abandoned by its students for the summer. Most of the cast and crew have driven out to Malibu this afternoon to film the pyre-heavy final scene of the HBO series’ fourth season, but Skarsgård and his costar Stephen Moyer have been directed here to re-shoot a close-up. “Follow me,” he says as we edge closer to the darkest part of the hangar-size room.

“I wish I could find a f#cking light switch,” he adds, before eventually flipping one. The chamber we’re in—done up like a dank basement with black columns and intimations of evil—suddenly becomes awash in the glow of overhead lights. “This is where I tortured Lafayette,” he says with a satisfied grin, referring to the show’s second season, in which his character Eric Northman, the sheriff of Area 5, chained Nelsan Ellis’ drug-abusing, cross-dressing fry cook to a post. He waves me through another door into what looks like a nightclub filled with barstools, dusty liquor bottles, and a poster of a vampiric George W. Bush. “Welcome,” he says with exaggerated gravitas, “to Fangtasia!”

this part on True Blood:

After he gets dressed, we move to a similarly barren room, where Moyer, who plays his nemesis Bill Compton, is wearing a costume almost identical to Skarsgård’s, his hair being parted by a doting stylist. Skarsgård sits down next to him and, almost immediately, a makeup artist begins applying dots of red corn syrup to his cheeks, chin, neck, and chest. “Don’t you want to know why Eric’s face is all bloody?” Moyer says in a surprisingly thick British accent given the seeming authenticity of his Southern drawl on the show. Skarsgård nods at Moyer to continue. “He rips somebody’s heart out and then drinks blood from the aorta like it’s a straw. It’s so fucking cool!” Skarsgård, who’s been known to deliver some of the show’s wittiest one-liners, says, “When I’m finished, I just look into the camera and burp. It’s so gross.” Perched next to one another like the Bobbsey Twins as imagined by Quentin Tarantino, True Blood’s two greatest adversaries catch each other’s gaze and erupt with laughter.

More on True Blood: p.4

The Moon Goddess Emporium is relatively new to True Blood, as are those who frequent it, the witches who were introduced to the show this past June. Tibetan prayer flags hang from the room’s vaulted ceilings. It’s a cluttered space made all the more crowded by the 20-odd crew members anxious to film the scene and start their hiatus. Before the cameras begin rolling, Skarsgård walks up to his mark in the center of the room, Moyer kneels in front of him—his character is picking something up off the ground when the shot begins—and the director watches them from his chair in front of a camera monitor. While waiting in their places, Skarsgård looks down at his costar and says dryly, “It looks like he’s sucking me off,” to which Moyer responds by bobbing his head vigorously. Skarsgård closes his eyes and starts moaning with the intensity of a slash-fiction hero, after which Moyer stands up and wipes imaginary fluids from his mouth with the back of his hand. He scans the crowd and after taking a slight bow says, “And the Emmy goes to… ” A crew member whispers to no one in particular, “Now that’s what I call ‘Action.’”

Later that night, the fourth season of True Blood officially wrapped, Skarsgård returns home to shower before meeting me at the Hollywood Roosevelt for a burger and a few ice-cold bottles of IPA. Over two hours, he draws more than a few glances from a group of Australian tourists and even from social gadfly Rumer Willis, the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. “It’s you, Eric, isn’t it?” says one particularly guileless man, as if testing the waters before introducing Skarsgård to his wife. “Would you please take a picture with her?” He graciously obliges, wrapping his arm around the woman’s waist and smiling for the camera. “Would you… bite her?” This he does not oblige. When the couple retreats back to a far corner of the restaurant, Skarsgård says, “That’s one thing I’ll never really understand. But the main reason I don’t ever do it is because if I do it just once, every single person will be like, ‘Bite me! Bite me! Bite me!’”

Whereas he doesn’t at all begrudge a forward fan, he’s less patient with paparazzi who follow him to the gym and out to dinner. “They don’t care about you,” he says of the tabloid lensmen. “They just want their money. I’ll never get used to the fact that they camp out to get a picture of me eating a sandwich. It’s strange to me, and I want it to be strange—I don’t ever want to feel like that’s normal.” Which is why he’s excited to relocate for a few months to New York this fall, where he’ll film What Maisie Knew, a relationship drama costarring Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan. “LA is such a one-trick pony—80% of the people here talk exclusively about managers and agents—but New Yorkers don’t really care as much about ‘the industry.’”

Inside the Episode True Blood Episode 46 Burning Down the House

162The fangover for True Blood fans after last night’s episode is epic (at least for me). HBO just posted the Inside the Episode video for 4.10. Interesting to hear Alan Ball describe Sookie’s realizations and how it impacted Eric Northman.

True Blood Burning Down The House Screencaps

058Another new episode of True Blood finally aired! The gallery below contains the screencaps from the episode. Yes fans only 2 more episodes left. I will be sad to see the end of this season for sure! It has been fun seeing Eric Northman this season with and without his memory! Waiting really sucks!

Are You Ready for New True Blood Episode Tonight?

Waiting always sucks for True Blood fans. At least the new episode 4.10 #46 will be shown tonight. The Nest posted some images on their Facebook wall that show some images from one of the promos shown above SOURCE:

This gives me more hope that there are “lingering” effects to the amnesia spell. It looks like the spell has been broken in the image above. I wrote my speculations for this episode and had the feeling that yes there will be some small effect on Eric post spell break. UPDATE: I believe that Sookie is also sad in the image above  worrying about her special Fae powers that probably caused a lot of damage on a spelled vampire at the Tolerance Meeting. Maybe she is afraid that she might hurt one of the vamps she cares for   by accident (waiting sucks) The review here states “Sookie will use powers she has not used before” So I definitely think she is going to show a lot of power and yes will break a spell (and in the process I think will kill one of the spelled vamps)

UPDATE: I will be adding more images to the gallery on this page every hour (hopefully) before tonight’s episode airs tonight! I also have some for next week’s episode as well (I think they are for some of 4.11). Yes teasing and waiting sucks! the other photos from the rehearsals are in the posts here:

Filming Fun Fangover

Main Street mayhem:

This image from the filming led me to believe that as well as what Alex in character was saying in a later scene in the rehearsal.

Eric is definitely post amnesia. I still think he is offering himself up for Sookie.

I will post the uncropped image later today before the episode. I don’t want to set off a huge fan war (which would be a bigger one that the witch versus vampire war)

Waiting still sucks but here are a few more photos to whet the appetite:

Vampire "Kirsch" on the ground with King Bill

Another image showing Pam in a bit of “protection” mode with Eric (love their relationship on the show):

Pam is in "protect" mode here I believe.

Gallery below has new images from the rehearsals:

True Blood Spoilers Burning Speculations for Episode 46

The next episode of True Blood will be another crazy one according to the episode summary:

Episode #46 – 4.10: ‘Burning Down the House’ As all hell breaks loose in Shreveport, Sookie summons her most potent powers yet to save Bill, in the process breaking a spell and leading Marnie/Antonia to re-evaluate her mission. Jason urges Jessica to glamour him for Hoyt’s sake; Terry drags Andy to “Fort Bellefleur” for an intervention; Alcide reconsiders his allegiances after Marcus fight with Tommy; Jesus, accompanied by Sookie, Lafayette and Jason, tries to breach the Moongoddess Emporium’s defenses to liberate Tara and Holly, while Bill leads a brigade of vampires committed to blowing the place to kingdom come.

Here are my speculations and yes possible spoilers. So read at your own caution. Spoiler alert – (as if that makes you not want to read them). The song we may hear I believe is the one by The Talking Heads link here:

1. Tolerance Meeting Hell in Shreveport-Sookie Summons Powers

I don’t believe that the Tolerance Meeting will be one that the AVL will want humans to remember at all. When we last saw Nan and King Bill, MarniA had taken control over the 3 vampire sheriffs, Blackburn, Kirsch and Duprez. They had just “gutted” three AVL guards and were in the process of shredding some more humans at the meeting. (bodies could be seen flying around). Happy Birthday Alexander Skarsgard

Grattis på födelsedagen, Alex! Yes today is Alex’s birthday! It was a lot of fun wishing him an early Happy Birthday yesterday on the phone interview. He’s still in New York filming for “What Maisie Knew” and I’m sure he will have fun today. He is so amazing to support the LA Food Bank as his birthday cause this year! I let him know how much was raised yesterday and the total donated by his fans then was $3767! He was very thankful to the fans for helping him raise money for this wonderful cause! There is still time to donate:

This year’s Alexander Skarsgard Birthday Charity is the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. We are all aware that with the status of the economy tens of thousands of people across the country have either lost their jobs completely or have seen their hours cut back. While thousands of people look to places such as the food bank for assistance, the food bank has also suffered decreases in their donations. This year we ask only that you donate what you would have spent on a card and help us help those who need us most. If you can donate more, we are sure the food bank can put all donations to good use. As most of our followers know, we love doing our best for charity. Putting food on someone’s table, helping nourish and sustain a family for at least one meal, is a wonderful gift. As an added bonus, we (meaning Jenna) will take everyone’s name who donates and sign it on one HUGE card that we will ship to Alex for his Birthday. We can guarantee that he will see that card and it will be something he can stand in his bedroom and know that his fans not only love him, but that his fans do good things in his name.

Now for the rules: We have a team page set up on the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank website for credit card payments. Payments made here go DIRECTLY to the food bank and the site will tally all the donations so we can keep track of how we are doing. For international donors and those who prefer a Paypal option, please click on the DONATE button at the bottom of this post.

IMPORTANT: Paypal donors will need to put “Alexander Skarsgard Birthday” in the comments section so we can add those to the total manually. There is a drop down + sign that says “is this gift in honor/tribute of someone”. Paypal donors must click on that and enter “Alexander Skarsgard Birthday” . (screencap image below)

Ok Skarsfam, lets hit our goal of $20,000, save some trees, reduce Alex’s carbon footprint, give HQ a mailroom break and raise some money!!!

To make a donation via paypal please click on the donate button below:To make a donation directly using credit card click link  here:

Please feel free to leave Alex a birthday wish in the comments section and I’ll send them to him (via his manager I don’t get to email the viking directly yet…) It was fun to hear the local radio station say Happy Birthday to Alexander Skarsgard -the dj was not the regular one and she was “the blonde vampire guy on True Blood” (as if we need reminding!) Here is a cute youtube video of some kids singing Happy Birthday in Swedish :

True Blood Episode 46 Burning Down the House Spoiler Tease

032The next episode of True Blood 4.10 titled “Burning Down the House” will definitely keep fans worrying about what will happen to the vampires and humans on the show. When we last saw Sookie and the Bon Temps vampire King Bill all heck had broken loose. MarniA had taken control of the vampire sheriffs and they were in the process of ripping apart the AVL guards.

Eric Northman was shown in one of the balconies jumping down and running towards his target-King Bill. In the video trailer for the episode we see Eric running towards the King:
This looks like the action fans were shown in the 7/1/11 Entertainment Weekly magazine. scans found here: Now it makes a little more sense as to why Eric was shown trying to pull the King’s head off. (the balloons behind them are the same ones above)

Under MarniA’s spell Eric is under her command to kill the King. Yes it also does appear that episode 46 will have a lot of action. However knowing Alan Ball I do believe this action will be painfully shown at a slow pace! Yes the action will seem quick but there are a few other stories that will be featured in this episode.

The episode description is below:

I was able to attend the filming for some of this episode since it was close by. At the time I was not sure if it was for episode  4.10 or 4.11. Turns out it might have been for both! The images from the filming that I took are found on this page: SPOILER again in nature! post for this was added to site 6/14/11:

There are also some other images that were taken from filming
that are found here: posted 5/26/11.  They show Jason, Lafayette and Sookie. SOURCE: Splash

Ryan Kwanten above is definitely running near the “Moon Goddess Emporium” during the daytime. (he is across the street from the Moon Goddess location) The image below shows the filming at night:

I also have a few images that I have not yet published  (they are really spoiler in nature). As it gets closer to air date I will write up a bit more “speculation” and post the images that I can. Waiting really sucks! At least now the rehearsals I was able to watch are making a lot more sense! Waiting Still SUCKS!

True Blood Episode 46 Trailer Screencaps

Next week’s episode of True Blood looks like it will be another crazy one! Episode 46  is the tenth episode for season 4. The video trailer is found here on the site:

The gallery below contains screncap images from that trailer. Don’t blink or you might just miss something. Spoiler in nature ! The image above is very interesting. Looks like the Fae may be back in Bon Temps! Also King Bill does take a “shot” at Eric. Sookie is going to be using all her powers to keep Eric and Bill alive it looks like from the trailer. Waiting still sucks!
