A new True Blood season 5 poster was released by HBO today as a “Fan” poster (it is probably a fan art one). The image above shows a bloody hand print with the date of the premiere for the fifth season 6/10/12. Yes one finger for every year that the show has been on so far! Waiting sucks!

HBO has a new image for True Blood’s fifth season on their website. The image above is of Joe Manganiello is his role of Alcide Herveaux. The image is for episode 5.04 (episode 52). The scene looks like it may be taking place at Sookie’s home.  Waiting for the new season sucks!

True Blood season 5 promo shown on Sunday night had quite a lot to enjoy for fans. We finally got to see a bit more of the mysterious vampire group “The Authority”. Here are some more speculations from the new promo trailer.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T The Authority!

Christopher Meloni is “Roman” the head of The Authority vampire council. In the promo we hear him say “I AM THE AUTHORITY”. The Authority council member are seen kneeling in front of a glass case that holds a large vial of blood. Why is this blood so sacred? Does it hold the blood of the very first vampire? Does it hold special powers? Wonder if we will see it used in the new season.

Just what does this secretive group have in mind for the former King of Louisiana and Vampire Sheriff (Bill and Eric). We see the duo on the run from a possible true death sentence. The casting calls had a form of an underground railroad that perhaps they use to try and escape. A big explosion is also seen:

We see a burnt vampire (probably Hayes a new character mentioned in the casting call for episode 5.01:  [HAYES] A large vampire of Eastern European descent, he is dispatched by the Authority to give the True Death to some other vampires…3 lines, 2 scenes) after the car explosion:

Nora who is a council member (she is seen wearing the Vampyr necklace) who seems to be helping them escape. Nora is another progeny of Vampire Godric so she is Eric’s “sister”. It does look like though they are eventually all caught.

Nora is put in her own jail cell as are Bill and Eric:

Bill looks like he is burnt a bit as punishment:

Never fear. We seen him fully healed in the same promo.

He’s BAAAACCCKKKKKK

Yes! We finally see King Russell Edgington (ok former King) in the new trailer. He seems to have healed quite well from being kept in concrete for a long period of time. In the prior trailer we did see an unwilling donor who was probably the reason for Russel’s healing.

Really looking forward to seeing the mayhem Russell will cause this season. We do see Eric and Bill pleading their case with the Authority to “end” what they started and are shown going into the location where Russell was kept to heal: (Eric has a big ole stake for RE!) It looks like Eric, Bill, Alcide and Sookie will have a mission to get Russell. (but probably won’t find Russell at this location)

The scene used for the filming above was held at the “creepy hospital” location. Quite perfect for what looks like it will be a very dangerous scene for the vampires, fae and were!

Where is This Were?

In this promo trailer we see Sheriff Andy Bellefleur holding the photo of Debbie Pelt. The casting calls had her parents of Barbara and Gordon Pelt who are looking for their missing daughter. Sookie is shown to be burying something (or someones perhaps) with Lafayette (my guess). In the season 4 finale we saw Sookie shoot Debbie Pelt. Debbie had tried to shoot Sookie but Tara took the bullet instead. So yes the big question now is when we last saw Tara Sookie was holding her pleading for someone to help her!

Tara had quite a grave injury. Lafayette is upstairs will he use his powers to save Tara? Will Sookie use her energy hands to somehow revive Tara?

Speculations that Tara will be turned really started popping up when the episode title for the season 5 premiere came out- “Turn, Turn , Turn”. Is this a nod to her being turned to save her from death? Some are saying nay Tara is dead for good. If Tara is really really dead and Debbie was the person responsible Sookie would have a justifiable reason for shooting Debbie in self defense. However since we do see Andy with that photo of Debbie and her parents think she is missing no one really knows that Debbie is dead.

Alcide is shown in the promo with another were who seems quite upset with him perhaps this is Debbie’s dad looking for his little girl (ok a very mean big girl hooked on V)

So again where is Tara?? Waiting really sucks. (my guess is hopefully Pam gets the chance at being her maker that would be something to watch).

Lots more to speculate and absorb in this promo. It will have to last for fans! The next promo is not due out until 6/4/12! Waiting really sucks! At least the new season will be here soon.

The new True Blood season 5 trailer last night showed a lot of new action for fans to enjoy while waiting for the new season to start. If you blink you might just miss something big!

Taking a second and third look at some of the action shown in the new trailer helped answer some questions but then raised even more questions as to what the vamp is going on?

Turning of Pam Flashback

When Sookie is first shown in the new trailer she is pleading for someone to help her as she holds the gravely wounded Tara. A flash of action shows the many possible “hero” who perhaps will come to help Sookie. We see Eric Northman, Bill Compton, Vampire Jessica and yes even Vampire Pam is shown in the screencap above. Pam looks like she is pretty deep in thought in this cap. Perhaps she is remembering when she was turned from human to vampire by Eric Northman.

We do see Eric sporting an early 1900′s wardrobe (hat and all) and yes even see Pam and Eric in bed. This looks like the long awaited flashback to when Pam was turned:

We see Pam and Eric in bed together in the cap above. Perhaps this is before she is turned (she seemed to be working as a prostitute when human). Looks like Eric may save her from this man who looks intent on doing major harm to her: (almost looks like this man is Jack the Ripper but you never know). Eric is shown with bloody hands so he probably takes ‘care’ of the man.

I have a feeling that Pam is remembering the time she was turned since she might be asked to make a new vampire and turn a certain someone who has yet to be seen in the new trailers for the season. (only have seen her in the same action from the season 4 finale) Just a “feeling” whatever the reason it will be great to see the early days of Pam as a vampire.

Light Hands In Action (Fae Powerapalooza)

We get to see some of the magic energy hands from Sookie Stackhouse and also some of her Fae relatives (some new characters):

The new Fae above are shown in the new trailer. I believe we finally see the new “Claude” that was cast this season.

Sookie is zapping Pam for some reason (I think it is because she believes Pam had a hand in releasing Russell from his cement grave but I think she had no hand in that matter)

Jason also looks like he gets to meet some Fae-he’s seen in the cap below with an exotic dancer. The casting call  for episode 5.04 had “an exclusive club” that would entertain some gentlemen. Pretty sure this will be a fae club.

Vamps On the Run

We see Eric and Bill survive the big explosion only to probably be captured by The Authority. We see guards with vampire guns on the deck of a boat (filming took place in December at the Ports for this scene)

They will have a lot of explaining to do to the Authority and will have to plead their case to not be staked. We see them in the Authority jail (Nora as well looks like she loses her chair in the Authority). 

Hoyt’s No Momma’s Boy!

We see Hoyt sporting guy liner and yes allowing a vampire to feed from him. Looks like he might have aligned with some anti-vampire group since we also see this same vampire being shot with a vamp gun and Hoyt is covered in his blood. Oh Hoyt.

Guess losing your vampire girlfriend drove you over the edge!

In the casting call for episode 5.07 there was a call for Tyrese a beer drinking trashy anti-vampire group member. Also in casting call for 5.06 it called for a Joe Bob-an Obama mask wearing man. We see two men wearing masks shooting in the image below: (it will be interesting to see who the vamp they shoot is. almost looks like Rev. Newlin)

There will a lot of shooting in season 5. Not just the vampires may become targets. There might be a chance that someone is targeting shifters. We see Sam telling Luna to run and saw some of the action in the waiting sucks that featured Sam and Luna. (there was a character from the books that targeted shifters).

So fans what did you think of the new True Blood trailer? Still working on the rest of the speculations. There is just so much in this trailer that it is too much for one post! here are the screencaps and the video:
