Gustaf Skarsgard’s kick-ass Vikings, one of our very favorite shows in the history of absolutely everything, is back next year for a 4th season, and the premiere date has now been announced as February 18th in the US. The season will run for 10 episodes, but there’s a also a bonus announcement – 4 extra episodes to air later in the year! Will Floki survive the entire 14 episode run? Now Ragnar knows for certain that he carried out that dastardly dirty deed……………..we’ll find out in 2016.
Gustaf Skarsgard’s hit TV show “Vikings” has been officially renewed for Season 4, to air in 2016. Season 3 has been averaging around 4.3m viewers during its current US run. With the surprising deaths developments already this season, there is no way to be sure how much longer Floki will be around, but it’s good to see one of the best shows on TV renewed for another year.
And making it a family affair, Gustaf was recently pictured on the set with younger brother Valter…….
Season 3 of Gustaf Skarsgard’s completely brilliant TV show “Vikings” finally gets under way tonight on the US History Channel (10pm ET). As you may be aware, we are very partial to the odd Viking on this site, and we’re looking forward to spending a few good weeks with Floki, King Ragnar and the rest of the kick-ass gang.
The Huffington Post have put together a list of 5 ways the Vikings will invade your life:
Gustaf Skarsgard’s hit TV show Vikingsreturns to the US History Channel for Season 3 in just 8 days time. It’s the first of 3 TV shows that will feature a Skarsgard in a leading role in 2015. Later (probably June) Bill will appear in the final season of Hemlock Grove, and their father Stellan has been busy filming River, a new detective show for the BBC in the UK.
It’s hard for anything to make up for the lack of Alexander we’ll all be feeling on our TVs this year, but at least his wonderfully talented family are helping to ease our pain. Here’s a little Behind The Scenes video for Vikings Season 3 to wet your appetite.
If you’re looking for something to watch on TV now that True Blood is part of broadcasting history, you could do a lot worse than Vikings. It has kick-ass Scandinavian warriors, strong female characters and even a Skarsgard of its own. Seasons 1 and 2 are available on DVD (and Amazon Prime) and here’s the new trailer for Season 3 (coming soon).
A little belated, but we hope Alexander Skarsgard fans had a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
2015 will be a strange year in the fandom, our first year here without Alexander’s regular TV show to look forward to over the summer months. We already miss Eric Northman desperately but hopefully there will be announcements about exciting new projects to come over the months ahead. Alexander’s new movie “Diary of a Teenage Girl”premiers at The Sundance Film Festival later this month, and we will be bringing you all the news around that. We still await any release details for “Hidden”, and hopefully later in the year we will start to see some publicity begin for “Tarzan The Untamed” (2016 release).
Shield Maidens prepare for battle, as the kick-ass TV show that contains all our favorite Vikings that aren’t called Eric Northman is set to return to pillage our village when Season 3 begins on Thursday February 19 2015. With no more True Blood to look forward to, this might possibly turn out to be my television highlight of next year.
Vikings Season 2 was released this week on DVD in the US. If you haven’t had chance to catch up with this great show, we highly recommend it. It stars Travis Fimmel, Katheryn Winnick (as the best female character currently on television), Alexander Ludwig, Clive Standen, Jessalyn Gilsig, and of course Gustaf Skarsgard as Floki.
