His birth name is Alexander Johan Hjalmar Skarsgard. He was born on August 25.1976 in Stockholm Sweden. He is the son of actor Stellan Skarsgard and My Skarsgard. Alexander made his acting debut in Allan Edwalls award winning drama “Ake och hans varld” in 1983. Alexander worked frequently as a child actor during the 80′s and became a huge teenage star when he played “Jojo” in Rumle Hammerichs “Hunden som log” in 1989. Alexander was not comfortable with being a celebrity at such a young age so he quit acting. It was rough enough dealing with puberty and all that fame.

During the eight years he did not act, he studied Political Science and completed his Military service in the Marines in Sweden. However and luckily for us, the pull and desire he felt for acting returned! He enrolled at Marymount Theatre School in New York City in 1997.

    Do you ever feel that the role of Eric Northman will put you back in the limelight that you cant control do feel you will be type casted !!!!
